Nov 13, 2014  Restart. Since they are preferences, and not critical system files, the Mac shouldn't have any trouble restarting. It should rebuild anything that's missing at default settings. However, that's what the other bootable drive is for. It the Mac does balk at the removal of these preference files, then you restart and boot to the other partition. Jul 23, 2015  Hi all, I migrated my old mac pro (10.7.5 - old CC) to a new iMac and Yosemite. Everything else is fine except Adobe CC, which refuses to work completely. Initially after the migration it complained that it is broken and a new version should be installed. No luck there. Creative cloud desktop ins.

Enable: sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate AutomaticCheckEnabled -bool TRUE
Disable: sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate AutomaticCheckEnabled -bool FALSE
Download newly available updates in the background:
Enable: sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate AutomaticDownload -bool TRUE
Disable: sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate AutomaticDownload -bool FALSE
Install XProtect and Gatekeeper updates automatically:
Enable: sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate ConfigDataInstall -bool TRUE
Disable: sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate ConfigDataInstall -bool FALSE
Install security updates automatically (like the OS X NTP Security Update 1.0 update)
Enable: sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate CriticalUpdateInstall -bool TRUE
Disable: sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate CriticalUpdateInstall -bool FALSE

Step 3: Now, icon will jiggle with cross icon on top right (X). Click on it to move it in trash.

So simple, if you want get back all files and folders with deleted app, Just go Trash > Choose app you want it back (Put Back).

Generally, Most of the Application should stop Files, Cache, and Preference for future use or security. So we must have to delete it completely if you want more space consume by those apps.

Remove application support file at: ~/Library/Application Support/(App Name)

Remove Preference are stored at: ~/Library/Preferences/(App Name)

Cache are stored at: ~/Library/Caches/(App Name) Arduino lib.
